Regional trade agreements

Thanks to Kenya’s membership to the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) and East African Community (EAC), importing goods from these economic blocs is free of taxes.

Reduced taxation of imports from the European Union (EU)

Kenya has already liberalized more than sixty percent of imported products (raw materials and capital goods) from the EU. The implementation of the new Economic Partnership Agreement between the EU and the EAC will continue to reduce tariffs.
